The Third Gemang Rinpoche
Lingtsang Gyalse, born as Prince of Ling Tsang, was recognized by the Fifth Dzogchen Rinpoche as the reincarnation of Gemang Rinpoche. But his father, the King of Ling Tsang, did not allow his son to be enthroned and subsequently the prince passed away at an early age. At the Kudung (funeral), the king acknowledged his mistake and received purification from the Fifth Dzogchen Rinpoche, who then instructed the king to build Gesar Shrine Hall as atonement in the King of Gesar's birthplace. The King of Ling Tsang kept his promise and built Gesar Shrine Hall, which still stands today, as a memorial to the Third Gemang Rinpoche.
